Hello from the plant floor

I've spent fifteen-plus years inside industrial control systems — SCADA rooms, PLC panels, BTU meters, the telemetry that keeps a city's chilled water moving. Most of what I learned there never made it out of the control room.

This blog is where it comes out.

Expect writing on SCADA software, MQTT and the unified namespace, OPC architectures, OT security, and the open-source IIoT stack — Node-RED, Grafana, InfluxDB — that every OT engineer already loves but few plants run with confidence. Some essays first appeared in 2023 and are being rewritten for 2026; the industry moved, and so did I.
